It feels like a dream to say that Boulder, CO is my new home! It is such an endurance sport mecca, and it’s so cool to be a part of it. I found some lovely swim groups at Flatiron Athletic Club, and should have no problems finding fast people to push me. So many big names hanging around, just trying to hold my own in practice! I’ve ended up a little starstruck at times, but everyone has been really nice so far.
I got a chance yesterday to watch part of the USA Pro Challenge that rode through Boulder. The whole town was out on bikes chasing down the pros through town and the mountains. The atmosphere was incredible! Here’s some video I took while spectating: http://youtu.be/D1U8sBFwLzI
So far I’m preparing for the start of classes tomorrow and trying to get a training schedule nailed down. My heart (and rest of my body) continue to feel good, and are adjusting to the altitude. If things continue to go well, I might be set for a tune up in HyVee next weekend!
